Homebuilt Wind Generator Power Guides
Since the idea of creating homebuilt wind generator power is catching up in US, Canada, UK and Australia, we decided it is time to look into the available guides. We feel that creating renewable energy is something that could become the norm for future homes. As such, a group of us, friends and family members bought a set of guides, read through them and built our own wind generators.
There are at least 10 of such guides in the market now. Each of them answers the technical questions about how to assemble your own homebuilt wind generators and solar power systems. We found a similarity in most guides. The costs of building a wind turbine or solar power system is low and generally range from $100 to $150 for a wind turbine, whereas a solar power system will cost more and fall in between $200 to $250.
However, there is a marked difference in the way the guides explain the details and steps to create our own homebuilt wind generator power as well as solar power. Also, the wind turbine and solar panels we build using the guides achieved different levels of energy efficiency and savings.
Among the dozen of guides we reviewed, we concluded that the following 3 stands out in terms of user-friendliness, clear instructions, ease of application and better energy efficiency.
No.1 Earth4Energy
Earth4Energy is one of the most established products in the homebuilt wind power business and we are impressed with its clear instructions and diagrams on how to build a wind turbine as well as a solar power system. When we built our wind power and solar power systems, we realized that achieving 80% energy savings was possible. Building a wind turbine will cost about $100.
The guide costs $49.97 and is quite a steal at this price.
No.2 Earth Energy For Home
Earth Energy For Home ties closely with Earth4Energy and it was hard for us to decide which should take No.2. We like Earth Energy For Home for a reason. The steps explained within the guide are easy to understand and apply. Diagrams are provided that makes it really simple for anyone to start working on the wind turbine. The clear instructions and good design both make it a winner compared to other guides.
We were also able to achieve similar levels of energy efficiency and electric savings with this system. The wind turbines were built on an average of $95. We also realized that many users were able to cut their electric bills substantially.
Although Earth Energy For Home still performs better in terms of clarity in instructions, since it is a newer product than Earth4Energy, we decided that it should be in No.2 until a further review somewhere in the future.
For now, the price of Earth Energy For Home is reduced to $49.90 from $99.90 and we are guessing that it will be restored to its original price soon.
No.3 Homemade Power Plant
The presentation of diagrams and information is not as professional and clear as the first 2 guides. However, compared to the rest of competing guides, this is a much better one. You will find a lot more content than diagrams. This is something which kind of puts us off. I believe it is so for other users as well since this is a DIY guide and pictures and diagrams always say a thousand words better than just plain text!
